About Our Showcase Reception and Awards Gala

IABC Houston is ready to celebrate excellence in communication! The Houston Bronze Quill Awards showcase best practices in business communications, management skills, thought leadership, and creativity. The Houston Awards are open to members and non-members of IABC. 

Bronze Quill celebrates the outstanding efforts of our best communicators and their unique talent, creativity, and resourcefulness.To ensure each submission is given equal opportunity, two senior communicators from other IABC chapters judge each entry and provide valuable feedback to the entrant.

The IABC Houston 2012 Bronze Quill Awards Program includes:

IABC Executive Communicator of the Year Award

This Award is given annually to a top-level business or organizational leader who actively supports communications by initiating, directing, supporting or sustaining outstanding and effective communications programs.

Awards Competition

Marketing materials distributed for the Awards competition include, but are not limited to:

  • Call for Entries
  • Postcards
  • Email communications
  • Event announcements at IABC meetings
  • Press releases
  • Social media, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Media promotion before, during, and following Awards presentation

Student Competition

The Student competition recognizes excellence in communication at the college level. Entries are judged against the work of peers. Judges evaluate students’ critical thinking and tactical skills in identifying a communication need, creating and implementing a solution, and assessing results. Winner will also receive a cash prize.
