Event Description

Telling a 100-Year-Old Story in Creative, New Ways

Using Flip Cams to Rev Up Non-Profit Fundraising

Houston’s Neighborhood Centers Inc. was founded in 1907 by a prominent community activist, Alice Graham Baker, grandmother of Reagan and Bush administration Cabinet member James A Baker III. Over the last century Neighborhood Centers Inc. has always been known for clear, crisp communications and award-winning graphic design. They’ve thrived by telling a story using the most affordable, effective tools and technologies of the day.

In fundraising efforts for the new Baker-Ripley Neighborhood Center, their communications staff turned to new tools, new ways of telling their story in a playful, engaging, cost-effective way.

They found that video needn’t be a large, cumbersome production. In fact, lately companies sometimes see an adverse reaction when something appears over-produced.

JOIN US as the communicators at Neighborhood Centers show how they take advantage of available resources to create quick, short powerful images that help resonate with supporters when the time is right.

Meanwhile, look for them on Facebook (and on Twitter @NeighborhoodCtr)
