Energy Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

A premier natural gas infrastructure company is seeking a Director, Media Relations who would be primarily responsible for:

  • National, business, trade and policy media relations.
  • Crisis communications.
  • Financial communications.

Required Experience:

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related area..
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a Corporate Communications environment.
  • Demonstrated use of communications skills (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Experience drafting/editing news releases, advocacy pieces; communications plans.
  • Experience working within a team/collaboration – both within corporate communications and through cross-functional/ad-hoc teams.

This Job Requires the Following Skills:

  Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing/implementing communications strategy on high-value, complex issues.
  • National/financial media experience.
  • Crisis communication/business continuity planning experience.
  • Experience advising executive management in high-risk environments.
  • Broad understanding of the energy industry.
  • Effectively deals with ill-defined problems and uncertainty.
  • Understands financial and business language; can translate complex subjects into easily understood language.
