Job Description

Overall Responsibility                      

Work in tandem with Communications Director to provide integrated media and messaging in support of the vision and brand of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church

 

 

Required Experience:

Essential Job Functions:                                

o       Prepare, evaluate and maintain a Master Plan and budget for equipment to allow St. Luke’s to be proactive about wiring, equipment purchases, room installations and media support

o       Manage all technology staff and volunteers to reinforce the message/mission of the church

o       Oversee management and maintenance of audio visual and editing equipment

o       Develop efficient processes and direct as needed

o       Implement a volunteer team system for Sunday morning worship support and freelance back-up relief for staff media personnel

o       Establish quality and effectiveness standards with regard to TV ministry, radio, equipment use and support of  SLUMC ministries

o       Provide strategic technical support for web, contemporary worship, podcasting, streaming video, blogs, etc

o       Provide media support (set up/take down/checkout/audio for special events, weddings, funerals, meetings) and supervise use of video/ monitor system throughout the church to maximize effective communication and worship experience

o       Utilize video filming and editing skills for broadcasting/recording for internal/external purposes

o       Provide insight/consultation on new media trends that might bring a better experience to St. Lukes members and guests

Position Reports To: Outreach Executive

This Job Requires the Following Skills:

Skills/Attributes

-         College degree required (technical or communications)

-         Technology and media experience required; sound engineering certification a plus

-         Solid experience in developing multi media strategies to support organizational vision

-         Ability to manage, motivate staff and volunteers

-         Proven track record of utilizing media effectively on schedule and on budget

-         Excellent skills in trouble shooting, computer graphic and camera equipment operation, video recording and editing and installation according to Master Plan design

-        

This Job Requires the Following Computer Skills:

- Web analytics management
- Final Cut Pro
- Adobe product mastery a plus
