IABC 2009 Southern Region Conference RFP for Speaker Presentations

IABC U.S. Southern Region seeks speakers for our 2009 regional conference. The conference will consist of a full day of 75-minute breakout sessions, and may offer a number of in-depth sessions before or after the conference on key topics affecting today’s business communicators. We anticipate the conference may draw more than 200 communicators from the southern United States, and Northern and Southern Caribbean.

The conference will provide sessions in four tracks or the key areas of communications leadership, public relations, branding and marketing, and employee communication. We are also looking for presentations that include tips and advice on managing career and work in tough economic times, doing more with less and success stories about using social media techniques. Our members work in corporate settings, academia, not-for-profit organizations, health/medical facilities, manufacturing, small businesses and independent settings.

Attendees will represent entry-level through senior level communicators. One area of focus will provide professional development advice and counsel to the increasing number of sole proprietorships and small communications practices and alliances. These independents need help in the areas of operating small businesses, successfully managing client engagements and marketing services.

Individuals interested in presenting at the 2009 IABC Southern Region Conference (www.iabcregionconferencehouston.com) must complete the Speaker Information and Presentation Proposal form and submit via e-mail no later than March 31, 2009, to: Pam McConathy, 2009 Southern Region Conference, iabc09soregspeakers@yahoo.com.

All speakers will receive a complimentary one-day registration to the conference as a thank-you for participation. Out of town speakers will receive one complimentary night hotel stay.
